1.          Management / Administration Work

(a)    Evaluation of the processes and outcomes of the past year

Ø  In 2019-2020 for Semester 1 and 2, I was active in the Mentoring Working Group, taking on a leadership role in the HDECE group by providing services to 14 students.

Mentoring Working Group to GCC (Mentor Program)

Ø  During the academic period of 2020-2021, I still in-charge of the Mentor for the ECE students. I also included the mentor for the field placement.

Ø  In Sept 2020- June 2021, I held regular 3 monthly meetings with the students.  Students would contact me either through email, mobile (WhatsApp) or on-line communication for consultation and I made myself available consistently. 

Ø  I also organized lunch meetings with the students to discuss issues that students considered relevant and important.  Some of the topics of discussion included: 1) adaptation to new school environment, 2) effective learning, 3) interpersonal relationship, 4) personal issues, and 5) plans for the future etc.

Ø  As a Course (Practicum) Coordinator for HDECE, to improve the practicum preparation, a visit will be made to the teaching practice schools to meet with the on-site supervisors before the block teaching school to discuss with them their role. Therefore, supervisors will be familiar with the on-site supervisor guidelines of the college.

2.          Community Service

(a)    Evaluation of the processes and outcomes of the past year

I have arranged a training session at the Henan Provincial Tumor Hospital in 2019 (i.e. Adolescent/ Young Children Behavior Management) and in the Hematology Department (i.e. musical games and music therapy for children with Leukemia.

Ø  I also plan to conducting a workshop in Jan 2020 about Behaviour Management for Young Children at QEH Chaplaincy Limited. (Due to series of social incident and COVIR-19, will prospone to next year).    

(b)   Plan and/or Performance Targets for next year: Aims/Strategies/Success indicators

I have continued to be actively involved in activities of the GCC and serve actively in the community to contribute my knowledge and expertise, especially in the field of music education for Early Childhood Education. I am actively involved in many of the Institute’s formal and informal sharing sessions. My continual involvement in students’ practicum supervision will aim to improve their teaching curriculum and introduce innovative teaching methods on music education through consultancy, conducting workshops, evaluations, and on-site feedback.
